Leslie Diver, her Haitian-born son, Gaby, and their two mini dachshunds, Bobo & Bullet, live happily together in an unassuming rental flat just north of Publix, the only supermarket in the town of Palm Beach.

 

Unassuming perhaps, but with the 33480 zip code (now the richest zip code in the US), this family resides in one of the world's most celebrated resort destinations. The town of Palm Beach, while only 3 blocks wide and 13 miles long, boasts "the best of the best" when it comes to millionaires and billionaires. Town residents include entertainers Rod Stewart and Howard Stern, conservative radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, and self-appointed master of the universe, Donald Trump. Understated elegance may be the norm here, though one- upmanship takes on a whole new meaning in this slice of paradise.

 

During the summer, the population in Palm Beach shrinks to less than 9,000 from it's "in-season" high of 40,000, leaving the Diver household among the few remaining year-rounders. Throughout the year, Leslie is at work as the owner and operator of Island Living Tours, the company she founded that provides architectural/historical tours of the town.

 

After a satisfying 20-year career as a financial adviser, Leslie decided to take the proverbial plunge into entrepreneurship and started her private touring company more than 10 years ago. A 30-year resident of the town of Palm Beach, Leslie served on both its Architectural Review Commission and Landmarks Preservation Commission for 10 years. Her company, Island Living, is a member of the Town of Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce and Palm Beach County's Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

 

When not at work Leslie, Gaby and "the boys" love going to the beach, and watching the Miami Heat play over a good take-out dinner.

 

Officially a family since Gaby’s 19th birthday, you rarely see this family apart.
